Vela ("we," "us") is an app for hairstylists to track product costs, profit, inventory, and client records. This policy explains what we collect and how we use it.

Information we collect

Account info

Your email address, used to create and secure your account.

Business data you enter

Products, inventory, pricing, appointments, and profit data.

Client information you enter

Client names, phone numbers, service notes, formulas, and before/after photos you choose to add.

Barcode contributions

When you scan and add a product, the product details (and any photo) may be added to our shared product library to benefit all Vela users. This does not include your prices or client data.

Subscription info

If you subscribe to Vela Pro, purchases are handled by Apple; we receive subscription status but not your payment details.

Usage data

Basic app analytics to improve the app.

How we use it

We use this information solely to provide the app's features. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

Your clients' information

You are responsible for obtaining any necessary consent from your clients before adding their personal information or photos to Vela, and for complying with applicable privacy laws.

How it's stored

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard cloud infrastructure (Supabase). Access is restricted so only you can see your own account's data.

Your choices

You can edit or delete your data in the app, and you can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.
